It is with great excitement I am announcing that I have joined the outstanding team at Escondido Periodontics. My most sincere goal is to earn your trust, loyalty, and confidence while treating each of your patients as my own family.

For the past 13 years I have been fortunate to serve the periodontal and implant needs of the Coachella Valley dental community. Working in a very busy and technically demanding office, I was able to hone my skills in all areas of Periodontics with extensive experience in pre-prosthetic implant and cosmetic reconstructive procedures. These cases challenged me to think outside the box and tailor treatment decisions to meet patient goals. I look forward to getting to know you and establishing myself within the North County dental community.

For those of you that I have not met, I am a 2004 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. I received a health professions scholarship from the Navy and following graduation, completed a General Practice Residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. I was subsequently attached to 1st Dental Battalion (United States Marine Corps) and served a seven-month tour of duty with 1st Medical Battalion in Al Asad, Iraq. While in country I worked as a triage officer and general dentist at a very busy level II trauma facility serving a population of over 16,000 military personnel, contractors, and Iraqi civilians. It was during this time that I solidified my interest in surgery. Following active duty, I was accepted into the Advanced Periodontics Residency program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and completed that program in 2010.

I was able to train under some of the best mentors in the business covering all progressive areas of modern Periodontics. We routinely performed direct and indirect sinus lifts, block and particulate osseous grafts, third molar extraction, socket preservation, implant placement using multiple systems (Straumann, Astra, Nobel), soft tissue grafting, esthetic crown lengthening, and the surgical and non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease.

Following residency, I successfully challenged the written and oral Board Certification exams and have maintained Board Certified Diplomate status since 2011. In addition, I also maintain a California IV conscious sedation permit and routinely utilize it for maximum patient comfort.

I am a hard working, empathetic individual and look forward to treating the periodontal and implant needs of the North County community. I hold the patient’s needs and comfort as a top priority. I believe that a strong working relationship with the referring practitioner utilizing combined treatment planning is essential for successful results.

When not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 3 year old daughter exploring National Parks and going on camping adventures.
